''Euptera elabontas'', the Common Euptera, is a butterfly in the Nymphalidae family. It is found in Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, the Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia.〔(Afrotropical Butterflies: Nymphalidae - Tribe Adoliadini )〕 Its habitat consists of forests. Adults are attracted to fermenting bananas.
